According to John McDonnell MP, Chairman of the Labour Representation Committee in an article written for todays Morning Star…..“The left will rise from New Labour’s ashes“.
We at The Sugarbeet Bhoy would like to respond.
Jog on McDonell!
The Labour Party have been in power since 1997, and what’s happened? Ever hear the little ditty that goes ‘meet the new boss, same as the old boss’?
The Labour Party lost its way when it allowed the removal of Clause 4.
It lost its way when it refused to back union struggle against Thatcher’s anti-union legislation.
It lost its way when it refused to support 2 million people on the streets of London opposing war in the Middle East.
It lost its way all the way back when bureaucrats first discovered they could become careerists and gain large bundles of cash, a fat pension and a seat in the bloody House of Lords!
It lost its way when it decided that class politics was dead and “we are all middle class now“!
Some of you lot might pretend you were always opposed to the New Labour initiative, and are the militant wing of the Labour Party, but the rest of us quite likely now will have to watch as a bunch of old Etonians strut along the corridors of Westminster and fascists in suits from the BNP get elected to Parliament, because the so-called ‘real socialists’ never had the balls to go the extra mile!
You’re part of the problem. Always going sideways never going forward. Spouting rhetoric that never goes anywhere. Always trying to be more electable. Same crap year in year out.
And you McDonell…the man who would be King!
Perhaps it’s time for major changes comrades, perhaps it really is time for the insurrection everybody’s talking about…perhaps it really IS time for Class War!
What the hell have we got to lose?
You could always come and join us Johnny boy!
Any subversive types in the area might like to leaflet the Labour Representation Committee Conference!!
